DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
A 46 year-old man was charged following a domestic dispute in the city’s west end Saturday morning. The man is alleged to have pushed the victim to the floor of an apartment and then punched the victim several times in the face. The accused also pushed the officers in an attempt to get at the victim. The accused was scheduled to appear in bail court on Sunday morning facing 2 counts of assault, 1 count of assault police and 1 count of breach of recognizance.
DOMESTIC DISPUTE
Shortly after midnight on Saturday a 54 year-old man was arrested as a result of a domestic dispute. The accused is alleged to have grabbed his victim by the throat and then choked the victim. The man was arrested by patrol officers and will appear in court on March 29 on an assault charge.
ARRESTED FOR ASSAULT
A 20-year-old man was arrested and charged this weekend with 2 counts of assault, 1 count of mischief and 1 count of threatening to damage property. The man attended at the victims apartment and is accused of assaulting the victim by kicking, punching and throwing the victim into a door and a wall. It is also reported that the accused damaged the drywall in the residence and threatened to do further damage to the residence if the police were called. The accused will appear in court on March 29th.
CHARGED WITH FORGERY
20 year-old Steven D’Orazio of no fixed address is scheduled to appear in bail court this morning after several charges were laid against him from an incident on February 18th. Mr. D’Orazio is alleged to have a stolen a cheque from persons known to him and then forged a cheque payable to himself. He then allegedly went to a TD Canada Trust bank and attempted to cash the cheque but was unsuccessful. Mr. D’Orazio is charged with theft under $5000, possession of stolen property, uttering a forged document and attempt fraud.
ATTEMPTED ROBBERY
Elliott Michael Southwind, age 22 of 8-16 Terry Fox Place was to appear in bail court on Sunday morning following his arrest for robbery and breach of probation. Mr. Southwind was arrested at approximately 1:55 Sunday morning after allegedly punching a cab driver several times while demanding he turn over his money to him. The cab driver received minor injuries in the assault.
THEFT CHARGES
34 year-old Brian Grasley turned himself in to city police on Saturday afternoon to deal with 5 outstanding charges of theft under $5000 and 1 count of fraud. Mr. Grasley is alleged to have taken the bankcard of persons known to him made several withdrawals prior to Christmas of 2003. He is also alleged to have purchased a DVD player during this time. He is scheduled to appear in court on March 22nd.
