ARRESTED IN APARTMENT BUILDING
32-year-old Craig Witty of 28 Landslide Road will be in bail court today to answer a number of charges. It is alleged that, yesterday at 3:00 a.m., witty forced his way into an apartment building in the 400 block of Korah Road. Police located Witty inside the building. He was on a probation order to keeps the peace.
It was learned there was an existing arrest warrant for Witty for failing to report to his probation officer. The accused was charged with one count of break and enter and 2 counts of breach of probation.
Also charged in the same incident was Thomas Jeffery Pine, age 35, of 116 Andrew Street. City police located Pine with Witty in the apartment building yesterday morning. Pine was located with Witty inside the building.
Mr. Pine was also wanted regarding an incident on June 30th when it is alleged Mr. Pine threw a rock through a window of a van. Pine has been charged with one count of break and enter and one count of mischief.
BURNED WITH FIREWORKS
On Saturday around 1:00a.m., Marty Lee Hunter, age 18 of 14 South Gladstone, allegedly threw 4 fireworks at a small group of persons talking in the parking lot of a business in the 1800 block of Queen Street East.
One of the fireworks struck a female victim and burned though her clothing, causing minor injuries. Hunter was arrested by police and charged with one count of assault with a weapon. He will appear in court on August 23.
CAUGHT ON VIDEO
On Friday evening police answered a call at the Rotary grounds on Foster Drive and arrested a male that had been detained by citizens who had observed the accused looking up the skirt of a female with a video camera.
The 43-year-old male, the name of whom has not been released, also attempted to destroy evidence by removing the videotape from the camera and attempting to destroy it. He has been charged with one count of mischief and one count of obstructing police. He will appear in court on August 23rd.
DOMESTIC ASSAULT
A 25-year-old male will appear in court on August 23rd after being charged with assault. It is alleged that on Saturday around 2:00 a.m., the accused went to a west-end residence and assaulted his girlfriend by striking her several times in the face. When she attempted to call police, he pulled the phone out of the wall.
YAMAHA STOLEN
On Saturday police received a report of a break and enter to a garage in the 400 block of Doncaster. Thieves made off with a blue Yamaha 250 Motor Cross bike valued at $12,000. The bike is race-ready and has the number 15 on it. If you have any information, please call police at 949-6300.
