YOUTHS ARRESTED FOR BREAK & ENTERS
On Saturday morning, just shortly after midnight, the accused, a 12-year-old male (while in the company of co-accused a 15-year-old male and a 14-year-old male) were at Bawating High school and in possession of a stolen 1995 Dodge Caravan, of a value that exceeded five thousand dollars.

All accused parties then committed the indictable offence of break and enter by removing a screen to the main floor cafeteria window and unlocking it.

Upon gaining entry, the accused and co-accused parties committed the indictable offence of theft under five thousand dollars by consuming and taking an undetermined amount of potato chips, ice cream bars, pizza pops, chocolate bars and Halls throat drops.

At 2:13 am the accused parties, the 12-year-old and 14-year-old were at Sports Gold, 279 Northern Avenue East and still in possession of the stolen van.

They then committed the indictable offence of break and enter by forcing a screen to the rear west window of the business. They then slid a window open and gained entry. They committed the indictable offence of theft under five thousand dollars by taking over two thousand dollars in currency.

Patrol officers, assisted by the Police K-9, "Eagle", arrested the two youths at 2:50 am at the rear of a Blucher Street residence. While the 15-year-old accused was arrested at 4:50 am at a Church Street address. They will appear in bail court.


FEMALE ASSAULTS FEMALE
On March 6, the accused Tricia Daigle, age 26 of Manilla Terrace allegedly assaulted the victim, a 36 year old female at the City Bus Depot at approximately 1:00 pm by pushing her backwards into the building and punching her three times in the head area. This resulted in injuries being a swollen top lip, slightly swollen left cheek and sore lip.

At the time of the incident the accused, Daigle, was on a probation order to abide by keeping the peace and being of good behaviour. Officers made attempts to locate the accused on the incident date, with negative results and a warrant was issued for her arrest. On March 8th at 9:02 am, patrol officers executed the arrest warrants. Daigle will appear in court April 14th on the charges of Assault and Breach of Probation.


ARRESTED FOR STEALING FROM RAILWAY
On February 23, in the City of Sault Ste. Marie, the accused, Patrick Scott, age 36 of Devon Road is alleged to have stolen over $100.00 from Algoma Central Railway.

Further, on March 1, Scott allegedly stole over $300.00 from the Algoma Central Railway. And on March 8, Scott allegedly stole $15.00 from the Algoma Central Railway.

Police officers recovered $15.00 of the stolen cash. On Saturday at 1:01 pm Patrick Scott was arrested and charged with three counts of Theft. He will appear in court April 21st.


ARRESTED FOR STEALING GROCERIES
On Saturday at approximately 4:30 pm, Bonnie Fantham, age 32 of 1061 Peoples Road was observed putting meat into grocery bags by a Security Guard at a local grocery store.

The store security guard observed Fantham and other females leave the store without paying for the meat. When the guard identified himself and attempted to arrest her, she assaulted him by removing her jacket to escape and by biting him multiple times in the hand area.

The accused punctured the victim's skin causing the injury to bleed. After a short struggle, she was detained until police arrived. At 4:42 pm on March 8th, police officers arrested and charged Fantham with Theft under $5,000.00, Aggravated Assault and Assault with intent to Resist Arrest. She will appear in court April 14th.


DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Yesterday at approximately 12:30 am, city police officers went to a residence in the 200 block of Wellington Street East regarding a 911 call indicating a domestic violence situation.

Upon arrival, officers were advised by the victim, a 38-year-old female, that her husband, a 42-year-old male had come home intoxicated, started a verbal confrontation with her and then assaulted her by pushing her.

The accused was arrested for Assault and transported to the police services building. Further disclosure from the victim revealed that on March 1 at approximately 2:30 am, the accused poked her in the chest with his finger and then slapped her in the face. Police arrested and charged the accused with two counts of Assault. He will appear in bail court.


IMPAIRED DRIVER
Yesterday at approximately 2:35 am, John Perry, age 33 of 303 MacDonald Avenue #201 was driving a Ford pickup on Foster Drive and was allegedly impaired by an alcoholic beverage.

The accused had struck a sign and post at 99 Foster Drive and dragged it onto the road, and then into parking lot of 615 Bay Street where the vehicle stopped.

City police officers arrested John Perry for impaired driving. He was transported to the Police Services Building for breath tests. Perry has been charged with Impaired Driving and Driving over .08. He will appear in court on April 14th.


MAN ASSUALTS GIRLFRIEND
Yesterday at 3:23 am, a 19-year-old male and his girlfriend, an 18-year-old female, were alone in the living room of an apartment on MacDonald Avenue with the lights out.

The victim started screaming and when the lights were turned on, the victim was bleeding from the forehead. The male was told to leave and he did.

Police officers went to the apartment and investigated the assault. Ambulance attendants treated the victim. Police officers located the suspect at 4:33 am hiding in the laundry room at the apartment complex on MacDonald Avenue. The male was charged with Assault, Resisting Arrest and Breach of Probation.


STOLEN VEHICLE
Yesterday between 3:00 pm and 4:00 pm the owner of a home in Monterey Gardens had left her home to go out and had left her 1994 Oldsmobile parked in the driveway.

The only persons left in the residence were her daughter, a 15-year-old female and her daughter's friend a 14-year-old female. When she returned home at 4:00 pm she discovered the vehicle was gone and so were the girls along with the spare key.

Police were notified of the theft. Yesterday at approximately 5:00 pm the young females were found in possession of the stolen 1994 Olds at Mike's Mart on Wellington Street West at Henrietta Avenue.

Police officers arrested and charged the females with Possession of Stolen Property. The driver of the car, the 15-year-old, was also charged with Theft. They will appear in court in the middle of April.


IMPAIRED DRIVER ARRESTED AT CUSTOMS
At approximately 11:00 pm yesterday, police officers were called to Customs Canada at 125 Huron St. for an impaired driver.

Officers went to the bridge plaza and arrested and charged Karen Totten, age 42 of Western Avenue, Maple City, Michigan, with Driving over .08. Totten will appear in court April 14th.
