YOUTH ARRESTED FOR ASSAULT
On April 8th,at approximately 10:40 pm a 15-year-old male assaulted a 46-year-old male near the bus terminal at Queen Street East and Dennis Street.
As a result of the assault the victim had his jaw broken in two places. At the time the 15-year-old accused was on a probation order with a condition to keep the peace and be good. Efforts to locate the young offender by police were unsuccessful and a warrant for the arrest of the youth was issued for Assault Causing Bodily Harm and Breach of Probation.
Yesterday at 3:24 pm, patrol officers observed the youth walking eastbound on Grace Street. After conducting a police records check, a warrant was confirmed for his arrest for assault causing bodily harm and breach of probation. The accused was arrested and charged with the offences and will appear in bail court today.
DEATH THREATS
Yesterday at 4:00 am, an adult known to the accused checked a message on their answering machine containing profanity and a death threat. The victim contacted police and an investigation was commenced.
At 8:57 pm on May 11th, police officers arrested and charged the accused, Sarah Mitchell, age 21 of 284 Albert Street West with Threatening Death or Bodily Harm. She will appear in court on June 16th.
ATTEMPTED BREAK-IN
Early today, the accused, a 27-year-old male of no fixed address and a second male went to a residence in the city's downtown core and attempted to get in. They attempted to gain entry through the front porch door and were unable to.
They then tried one of the front porch windows and again were unable to gain entry. The two males then went to the rear of the house, where the accused broke a back window and then they left on a bicycle. The accused was on probation not to molest, harass or annoy the female that lived at the residence. At 1:15 am, officers arrested and charged the male with Breach of Probation. He will appear in bail court today.
CONVENIENCE STORE ROBBED
At 3:26 this morning, police officers were advised that a convenience store in the city's downtown area had been robbed. Officers learned that a male in his early twenties, about 5'8" tall and weighing about 170 to 180 pounds with straight black hair, a dark complexion and wearing a black sweatshirt, black baggy jeans, black running shoes and a red bandana to cover his face, had robbed the store.
The suspect, who was carrying a bat, demanded money and cigarettes from the clerk. The victim complied with the robber's demands and was not harmed in the incident. The thief made off on foot with a small quantity of cash and some cigarettes.

BREAK AND ENTER
Early this morning, shortly after midnight, the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service received a complaint that a break-in had occurred to an apartment in the 200 block of Wallace Terrace.
Sometime between 10:00 pm on Sunday night and 12:48 am on Monday morning, thieves stole an X-Box entertainment system, a jewellery box containing various items of jewellery, a stereo system, a television set, a microwave and a small quantity of cash from the apartment.
Thieves then entered the victim's shed and stole two mountain bikes and a 9.9 horsepower outboard motor.
