On Saturday evening city police arrested a 38-year-old male for breaching his release document after a female complainant called the police. The male was on conditions not to communicate with the female after he was arrested and charged with assaulting her during a domestic dispute in August of this year.

On the 25th the accused called the female to talk to her and as a result he has been charged with one count of breach of a release document. He will appear in bail court today.


FAILED TO APPEAR IN COURT
Shortly before midnight on Saturday evening, city police arrested 29-year old Ronald Joseph Baron of 344 Water Street, Thessalon, Ontario. Mr. Baron had been arrested by the OPP and was turned over to the city police as they had outstanding warrants for him.

The warrants stem from an incident in April and again in August of 2001. Mr. Baron has been charged with one count of break and enter, 2 counts of threatening, one count of mischief and one count of fail to appear in court. He will appear in bail court today.


TREATED AT HOSPITAL
As reported Saturday by SooToday.com, on Friday morning, city police arrested a young person for assault. It is alleged that the youth assaulted another youth on the 14th of September.

The victim had been punched several times by the accused youth and was taken by ambulance to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The accused youth will appear in bail court this morning.


YOUTH ARRESTED
On Saturday evening, city police arrested a 15-year-old youth on a number of offences from an outstanding warrant. It is alleged that the youth was wanted on charges from the warrants consisting of 3 counts of failing to attend court, one count of theft under $5,000, one count of possession of property obtained by crime and one count of possession of housebreaking tools. The youth will appear in bail court this morning.


CHARGED WITH SHOPLIFTING
Around 4:30 pm yesterday city police were called to the Walmart Store on Great Northern Road. Store security had observed 42-year-old Pauline Pauze of 365 Second Avenue remove acrylic nails from a package and place them in her purse.

When she proceeded to leave the store she was apprehended and police were called. She has been charged with one count of theft under $5,000 and will appear in court on November 1st.


CARELESS DRIVING
Last evening shortly after 6 pm, city police were called to the 1200 block of Trunk Road for an accident with injuries. It is alleged a pick-up truck driven by 26-year-old John Ross of 134 Rankin Road did not see a car ahead of him slow down.

The car driven by 22-year-old Patrick Boissoneau of 104 Whiskeyjack Road had been slowing down for another vehicle in front if him when his vehicle was rear-ended by Mr. Ross’s pick-up truck. Neither of the drivers nor the 2 passengers in the Boissoneau vehicle required treatment for their injuries.

The damage to the vehicles is described as light to moderate. Mr. Ross has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act with one count of careless driving.
