NOT TO COMMUNICATE MEANS JUST THAT

A 34-year old male will be in bail court today after being arrested yesterday for breaching a release order. The male had appeared in bail court on the 27th of July after being arrested the evening before in regards to a domestic dispute. It was alleged that the male pushed the female victim to the floor, repeatedly punched her in the face and also threatened to shoot and kill her if she called the police. Police also seized a number of firearms. The male was released from bail court with a number of strict conditions including not to communicate with the victim. On the 31st of July the accused contacted the victim by phone thereby violating his release order. He will be in bail court this morning.

A COUNT OF POSSESSION

22-year old Corey Blais, of 84 Central Street, will be appearing in bail court as well. Around 1 am this morning Mr. Blais was found to be intoxicated in the downtown area. He was arrested and when officers searched him they found a number of pills in his pocket, namely chlorazapam and adavan. Mr. Blais was on a release order and a probation order. As a result of this Mr. Blais has been charged with one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance, one count of breach of a release document and two counts of breach of probation.

SMASHES CAR WINDOW

21-year old Georgina Mandamin-King, of 170 Bruce Street was arrested by patrol officers shortly before midnight after a concerned citizen called to report a female smashing in the window of a 2004 Dodge Ram that was parked in the downtown area. Officers found that Ms King had also pulled out wires in an attempt to start the vehicle. At the time of the offence the accused was on a probation order. She has been charged with one count of theft over $5,000 and one count of breach of probation. She will be in bail court this morning.

YOUTH BREACHES PROBATION

Around 3 am this morning officers stopped a 15-year old youth who was out and about in the City’s central area. The youth was riding a bike, wearing dark clothes and gloves, which had caught the officer’s attention. A check by officers revealed the youth was on probation and had a curfew of 10 pm to 7 am daily and could only be out past the curfew with a written note from the youth’s parents, which the youth did not have. The youth will be in bail court this morning after being charged with 2 counts of breach of probation.

ATTEMPTED B&E

Shortly after 11 pm last night City Police attended at Flowers with Flair on Bruce Street and learned that someone had attempted to break into the business. The culprit broke two windows but did not gain entry. If you know who is responsible for the break and enters around town call Crime Stoppers at 942-7867 or City Police at 949-6300.

TRANSPORT TRUCK CRUNCHES CANADA CUSTOMS CANOPY

Last night City Police attended at Canada Customs on Huron Street for an accident. A transport truck being driven by 59-year old Duane Canada of Westville, OK, USA, drove under the canopy at the customs area where there was not enough clearance for the transport. Mr. Canada did require medical attention but it was not related to any injuries received in the accident. The investigation into this matter is still ongoing at this time by officers from the Traffic Services Section.
