BREAK & ENTERS

City Police are investigating two Break and Enters that took place overnight. The first one took place to a residence in the 400 block of Morin St. In the incident a male observed two suspicious persons at the rear of his neighbour’s garage, at approx. 11:30 PM. This person called police and upon arrival officers discovered that the residence was broken into. Entry to the home was gained by forcing the rear house door. It is not known at this time what was stolen.

The two suspects are described as being: males, approx. 5’8” in height, medium build, both were wearing black or dark blue jackets and one was wearing a baseball cap. They were last seen going north on Morin St. towards Byrne Ave.

Anyone with information on this occurrence is asked to contact the Investigative Office.

The second Break-in took place to a residence in the 100 block of Hughes St. In this incident culprits entered the residence between midnight and 1:30 AM and stole a quantity of electronic items.

ASSAULT CHARGE

Yesterday morning at approx. 7:45 AM City Police were dispatched to an address in the 100 block of Jemmette St. in regards to an assault complaint. Upon arrival the officers spoke to the complainant who advised that his neighbour assaulted him.

It is alleged that Joseph Morin, 49, of 57 Jemmette St. committed an unprovoked assault on the victim by punching him several times about the head and upper body. Mr. Morin will be appearing in court on Mon. Jan 19th on a charge of Assault.
