Teen punches fridge, youth worker
A 14-year old youth will appear in bail court today after being arrested by City Police late last evening. It is alleged the youth punched a refrigerator causing dents in the door, as well as breaking a plastic thermostat on a wall in the residence the youth has been residing in. It is also alleged that the youth assaulted a child and youth worker by punching the worker in the face, and also damaged the doorknob of a room the youth had been in. The youth was on probation at the time of these incidents. The young person has been charged with two counts of breach of probation, two counts of mischief and one count of assault.
Trouble on the hill top
A 34-year old male will appear in bail court today on charges stemming from a domestic violence call in the City’s hill top area yesterday. Around 10 p.m. last night the accused got upset with the female victim, started yelling at her and then grabbed her by the throat and choked her. The victim left the residence and called police. The accused was on a probation order at the time with terms to keep the peace and be good. The male has been charged with one count of assault and one count of breach of probation.
Man charged with sexual assault
A 27-year old male was arrested yesterday after officers from the Investigation Services Section completed their investigation into a complaint of sexual assault. The victim in this matter is a young person and the name of the accused will not be released to protect the identity of the victim. The male has been charged with one count of sexual assault and one count of sexual interference. The accused will appear in court on August 30th.
