WEAPON ASSAULT CHARGE
Two young offenders will appear in court in late August for a consensual fight that got out of control. It all started when a third party stood up for someone being picked on. The person who was the bully in the situation got the worst of the fight and became very agitated, pulled a screwdriver out and attempted to stab the victim. The victim was able to take the screwdriver away without injury. Upon leaving the area, the victim got into the rear of a vehicle, and the accused was seen swinging a bandana with a lock on the end and the car window was smashed. This person has been charged with assault with a weapon and mischief. A second young offender picked up the screwdriver and shoved it down his sock. Police attended an observed the screwdriver and charged this person with possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose and carrying a concealed weapon. They will both appear in court in late August
