BREACH OF PROBATION
On the 27th of July 2003, patrol officers received a complaint that Donald Levesque, age 43 of 26 Albert Street East was harassing two adults at a downtown apartment complex. Officers were unable to locate the accused at this time.

Yesterday morning, at 9:10 am, patrol officers observed the accused and a police records check revealed an outstanding warrant for two counts of criminal harassment and breach of probation. At 9:15 am the accused was arrested and charged with these offences. He will appear in bail court.

COMPANY THEFT
In the late summer of 2003 police officers were advised that an employee of a community support agency may have been involved in the removal of funds from accounts the member had access to at Community Living Algoma.

Detectives from the Fraud Unit began an investigation and yesterday at 1:05 pm, they arrested and charged Corrine Sloss, age 57 of 509-652 McDonald Ave. with twelve counts each of Theft and Fraud under $5,000.00.

The entire amount of funds taken or defrauded was in excess of $1,000.00. The accused will appear in court on December 29th.

GROCERY THEFT
Yesterday, the accused, Gordon Stortini, age 42 of 540 Queen Street West entered Joe's No Frills at 519 Korah Road where he selected various items from the shelf and concealed them in his coat.

He exited the store without paying for the items and was arrested by store security. At 3:05 pm patrol officers charged the accused with theft. He will appear in court on December 22nd.

PASSING FORGED CHEQUES
Yesterday, the accused, Stephen D'ORAZIO, age 20 of no fixed address entered "Money Mart" at 77 Great Northern Road and attempted to cash a cheque for over $200.00.

Staff at the "Money Mart" became suspicious of the cheque and learned that the cheque was forged and was in fact stolen. Shortly after 7:00 pm patrol officers went to the store and subsequently arrested and charged the accused with Possession of Stolen Property, five counts of Making a Forged Document and three counts of Uttering a Forged Document. He will appear in bail court today.

JUVENILE ASSAULT
On Tuesday, in the early evening, a 16 year old young person and a 14 year old young person while at a west end park, assaulted two victims similar to them in age. Both accused assaulted the complainants by punching and kicking them. They threatened them saying if they said anything they would be punched out.

The victim’s received minor injures in the assault. As a result, last night, just before 8:00 pm, both accused were arrested and charged with two counts of Assault, one count each of Breach of Probation and Threatening.

One of the accused will appear in court today, while the other has a court day in late December.

IMPAIRED DRIVING CHARGE
Early this morning, at 2:58 am the accused, Anthony Plastino, age 26 of 18 Rushmere Rd. reversed his vehicle into a car parked in the parking lot of Misty’s Fifties.

This collision caused minor damage to the vehicles. At 3:06 am patrol officers arrested and charged the accused with Impaired Driving and Driving over .08. He will appear in court on December 22nd.

MISCHIEF CHARGE
Shortly before 4:00 am this morning patrol officers were called to the area of Queen Street East and Elgin Street for a complaint of people throwing things at vehicles.

Officers learned that a male, Mathew Caudle, age 19 of 576 Sherbourne Street had thrown three pieces of asphalt at a passing truck causing damage to it. At 3:55 am patrol officers arrested and charged the accused with Mischief. He will appear in court on December 22nd.

HOME BREAK IN
The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service investigated one break in from yesterday. Officers were called to a residence on Capp Ave. where thieves had entered the home. Details on what was taken are unavailable at this time.
