ARRESTED FOR ASSAULT Shortly before 5 am this morning City Police responded to a call in the City’s west end from a female. The caller advised her common law husband had just assaulted her.
ARRESTED FOR ASSAULT
Shortly before 5 am this morning City Police responded to a call in the City’s west end from a female. The caller advised her common law husband had just assaulted her. It is alleged that her 36-year old male partner grabbed her by the throat and pushed her onto a couch. The male has been charged with one count of assault and will be appearing in court on November 15th.

Yesterday’s (Oct 6th) release on above story: Early this morning City Police attended at the Blue Boy Addition on Wellington Street West after an employee of that business was assaulted. Shortly after midnight the accused was turned away from the business and refused entry since he was intoxicated.

The accused in this matter became upset and threatened to return with a baseball bat. At approximately 12:45 am the accused returned to the business with 2 other males and struck the employee with a baseball bat. A fight ensued in which the employee was then assault by the accused and 2 of his male friends.

The employee was punched and kicked several time in the head and was taken to the hospital by ambulance for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

24-year-old Jason Alexander Corbiere of 62 Wellington Street West was arrested a short time later. Mr. Corbiere was on probation at the time with terms to keep the peace and be good. He has been charged with one count of assault causing bodily harm and one count of breach of probation. He will appear in court on November 8th.

City Police are continuing their investigation into this matter and it is anticipated that further arrests will be made in relation to the other males involved in the incident.



BREAK & ENTERS
City Police took a number of reports of break and enters yesterday:
Thieves cut the compound fence at the Esquire Honda Dealership on Great Northern Road, but nothing appears to be taken.

A home in the 1000 block of Fifth Line East was entered yesterday morning and jewellery was taken.

A home in the 100 block of Westridge Rd was also entered yesterday morning, 2 DVD players and jewellery were taken in this incident.

A computer was taken from a home in the 100 block of Meadow Park Crescent yesterday during the daytime.

A home on St. Basil’s Drive was entered during the daytime yesterday and a DVD player and jewellery were taken.

Yesterday afternoon a home on Marsh Street was entered and money and jewellery were taken.

Last evening a home in the 400 Block of Albert St W was entered and a Panasonic receiver was taken.

Late last night a shed in the 200 block of Beverly Street was entered and a John Deere weed whacker was taken.

City Police also received 2 calls yesterday morning to Silverbirch Drive regarding mischief. 2 vehicle owners report that window on their vehicles were smashed during the night. A cell phone was taken from one of the vehicles.
