STOLEN CREDIT CARD Detectives from the Investigation Services Section of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service yesterday completed an investigation of a stolen credit card from the summer of 2003.

Detectives from the Investigation Services Section of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service yesterday completed an investigation of a stolen credit card from the summer of 2003.

On or about the 29th of July 2003 an adult male victim reported that thieves had removed his credit card, along with other items from his residence.

The accused, Donald Boucher, age 24 of 61 Wellington Street East allegedly took the credit card and used it to purchase items valued at over $300.00. On September 10th at 8:30 am detectives arrested and charged Boucher with Theft of a Credit Card, two counts of use of the Credit Card and Breach of Undertaking. He will appear in court later this fall.


BREAK-IN AT BIFF’S BUFF
Yesterday, shortly after 7:00 pm, City Police Officers were advised that several young persons had broken into a storage building at Biff's Buff and Shine, 285 Conmee Avenue. The young persons took and concealed 3 boxes of automotive cleaners valued at over $100.00.

At approximately 8:30 pm four young persons were located with the property. In an accord with the owner of the business, the young persons were released unconditionally under the agreement that they perform for work for the victim.


DISTURBANCE AT DOWNTOWN BAR
Early today, shortly after 1:00 am, patrol officers were called to a downtown bar to assist the liquor inspector. Officers meet the inspector outside the Queen Street establishment where an intoxicated male was causing a disturbance.

The intoxicated male was yelling and swearing and he refused to identify himself to authorities. He was cautioned to calm down and identify himself to police but he refused. Under the authority of the Liquor Licence Act, he was placed under arrested.

The accused struggled with police and attempted to kick the patrol officers. He was transported to the Police Services Building where, after being lodged in the cells, he identified himself to police as Troy Buttineau, age 30 of Batchewana.

He has been charged with Causing a Disturbance, Resisting a Peace Officer and Being Intoxicated in a Public Place under the Liquor Licence Act. He will appear in court on October 20th.


BREAK & ENTERS
In the past 24 hours, the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service investigated several break-ins.

At 9:06 am patrol officers were advised that sometime between the 9th of September and the 10th of September, unknown persons broke into Superior Tax Action Services Ltd. at 170 Bruce Street. Nothing appeared missing, however the building received approximately $500.00 in damage.

At noon hour yesterday, staff from the Eastgate Hotel on Queen Street advised police that thieves tried unsuccessfully to break into one of the offices there.

At 10:39 pm staff at the Sault This Week advised police that thieves had broken into the business at 2 Towers Street. It is uncertain at this time if anything was removed from the business.

Just before 5:00 am this morning police were called to the Coffee Hut at 247 Second Line West for a break in where thieves removed a quantity of cash.

The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service responded to six bicycle thefts yesterday. These thefts occurred at various times during the day and from a variety of locations in the city.
