CHARGED WITH PERJURY 20-year old Adrian Robert Smith, who is currently serving a 4-year sentence for robbery, will appear in bail court this morning.
CHARGED WITH PERJURY
20-year old Adrian Robert Smith, who is currently serving a 4-year sentence for robbery, will appear in bail court this morning. On Dec 10, 2003, Smith was convicted of armed robbery for his part in an robbery that occurred in June of 2003 at a Mike’s Mart in the 2000 block of Queen Street East.

Yesterday Adrian Smith was arrested and charged with 2 counts of perjury. It is alleged that he committed perjury at the preliminary hearing and the trial by swearing to tell the truth and falsely testifying with the intent to mislead the court.


DISOBEYED CURFEW
Shortly after 10 pm last night Henry Cadreau, age 22 of 28 Hughes Street, caught the attention of patrol officers as they were driving along Wellington Street East in the 50-block area. Mr. Cadreau took off running from the sidewalk he had been standing on when he saw their patrol car.

Officers did a query of Mr. Cadreau and found he had a 10 pm curfew and was to be in his residence on Hughes Street. Cadreau was located in a residence on Wellington Street East and was arrested for one count of breach of a release order for disobeying his curfew and one count of breach of probation for failing to keep the peace and be good. Mr. Cadreau will be in bail court this morning.


CAR ABANDONED ON RAILWAY TRACK
Around 1:30 am this morning city police were called to the area of Peoples Road north of Hillside Road in regard to an abandoned car on the train tracks. Police found a Dodge Lancer with no plates on it.

An alert citizen called the police and provided a description of the 2 persons who had been seen running from the car. Police subsequently arrested a youth and a 21-year-old adult who face a number of charges.

The 15-year old youth has been charged with one count of obstructing police by providing a false name, one count of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000; 3 counts of breach of probation by failing to keep the peace, failing to notify address change and failing to obey curfew hours, and one count of breach of a release document for failing to notify address change. The youth will appear in bail court this morning.

21-year old Jacob Sabourin of 15-106 Breton Road will appear in court on September 20th after he was charged with one count of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, one count of theft under $5,000, one count of breach of probation and one count of operate motor vehicle while disqualified-court order.


BREAK & ENTERS

Yesterday morning police took 3 reports of break and enters. Over the weekend person or persons entered at least 2 rail coaches at the ACR yard on Hudson Street. It is unknown what was taken at the time of this report. Also broken into were Glass Employees and Kelly’s Autobody, both in the White Oak Drive area. In these break and enters a small undisclosed amount of money was taken, in addition to 2 donation boxes the businesses had in their store for outside agencies.


BUS HITS CAR
Yesterday morning around 10:30 am City Police took a report of a motor vehicle accident involving a City Transit bus and a car. It is alleged that a car driven by Bruno Roti of 374 Henry Street pulled out of a driveway in the 200 block of Second Line East and was struck by the city bus that was travelling eastbound on Second Line East. Neither the driver of the bus, Lowai-Fawzi Lowis, nor any of the passengers were injured. Mr. Roti did not receive any injuries either. Mr. Roti has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act with one count of fail to yield from driveway.
