ACCIDENT SENDS ONE TO HOSPITAL
Yesterday afternoon at 1:45 pm a two-vehicle collision sent one person to hospital with injuries. The collision occurred at the intersection of 3rd Line and Old Garden River Road. Jeffery Connell, age 19 of Bruce Mines was driving a 1997 Dodge truck eastbound on 3rd Line and pulled out from the stop sign at Old Garden River Road.

David Berg, age 37 of 144 Landslide Rd. driving a 1993 GMC van was southbound on Old Garden River Rd. when it was struck by the truck. Both vehicles came to rest facing north on Old Garden River Rd. The vehicles were severely damaged in the collision. Connell was transported to hospital by ambulance.

Connell was charged with Failing to Yield to Traffic on a Through Highway, under the Highway Traffic Act.

Including this collision the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service investigated 19 accidents yesterday.
