DRUG CHARGES

Yesterday afternoon., City Police with the assistance of the Joint Forces Drug Unit executed a Controlled Drug and Substance Act search warrant at 81 Letcher Street, the residence of Justin Jones age 22, Troy Chikoski age 22 and Vanessa Kelly age 21. Located in the residence was 43.1 grams of cannabis marijuana, $700 in Canadian currency, cell phones and various drug paraphernalia.

As a result, all parties were charged and arrested with being in possession of a Controlled Substance for the purpose of Trafficking, being in possession of Property obtained by Crime and being in possession of a Controlled Substance. The estimated street value of the drugs seized was approximately $900. Troy Chikoski and Vanessa Kelly will appear in court the 21st of June 2004. Justin Jones will appear in bail court today.

DOMESTIC DISPUTE

Early this morning, City Police responded to a domestic dispute. An accused person smashed the windshield of a vehicle belonging to their common law spouse causing approximately $100.00 damage. At this time, the accused also breached a condition of their probation order to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. Police spoke to the accused who was charged and arrested with Mischief Under $5000.00 and Breach of Probation. A June 21st 2004 court date has been set.

NOT BEING ABLE TO TELL TIME

At about 3:20 a.m. this morning, a young offender was located on Wellington Street West. A Police records check revealed the young offender was on Probation with curfew of 8pm and keep peace and be good, and further on a Recognizance of bail with a curfew of 8pm dated the 17th of May 2004. The young person had attended bail court on the 17th of May 2004 for charges of break and enter. The accused was arrested and charged and will again be in bail court today
