23-year old Ricky John Penney of 233 Glasgow Avenue was arrested on the 3rd of October shortly after 8 am after he smashed the front window of Bygone Antiques of 348 Bruce Street. It is alleged that Mr. Penney also entered the store and removed 2 silverware sets valued at $65 each, some money and a ring of keys. Mr. Penney was arrested shortly after the incident and was charged with one count of break and enter and commit an offence, in addition to one count of breach of probation. The property as recovered and returned to the store. Mr. Penney will appear in court on November 8th.

Mr. Penney had been arrested on October 3rd for the above incident and failed to attend his court date. He was arrested yesterday and will appear in court today on 3 charges. They are break and enter and commit an offence, one count of breach of probation and one count of fail to appear in court.
MALE CHARGED WITH FAILURE TO APPEAR
Yesterday afternoon 34-year old Scott Dunseath of 209-222 Albert Street East turned himself into City Police after he failed to attend for fingerprinting earlier in the month. Mr. Dunseath has been charged with one count of fail to attend for prints and will appear in court on January 10, 2005.
MALE CHARGED WITH ASSAULT WITH SCRAPER
Yesterday afternoon 56-year old Theodore Syrette of 98 Gran Street was arrested after it is alleged he tried to hit a city bus driver with an ice scraper. Around 4 pm Mr. Syrette realized he missed his bus stop and asked to be let off at a spot that was not a bus stop. The driver was unable to allow that to happen for safety reasons. Mr. Syrette then grabbed the ice scraper and tried to pry open the bus doors and when he was unsuccessful at that he turned and swung the scraper at the driver. The male was subdued until police arrived. Mr. Syrette has been charged with one count of assault with a weapon and will appear in court on January 10, 2005.
MALE CHARGED WITH FAILURE TO YIELD
Yesterday morning around 8 am City Police attended at the intersection of Hugill Street and Queen Street East for a motor vehicle collision with injuries. A van being operated by Aline Lacasse of 4155 Queen Street East was traveling westbound on Queen Street East when a car being operated by William Shepherd of 1467 Queen Street East pulled out in front of the van. It is alleged that Mr. Shepherd had been traveling southbound on Hugill Street, and stopped for the stop sign but then crossed in front of the Lacasse van. A family member took Mr. Shepherd to the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. He has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario with one count of fail to yield to traffic on a through highway.
