WEATHER CAUSES HAVOC The return of winter, yesterday, kept the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service busy investigating 17 motor vehicle collisions. Two of the accidents resulted in minor injuries, while the remainder were property damage.

WEATHER CAUSES HAVOC
The return of winter, yesterday, kept the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service busy investigating 17 motor vehicle collisions. Two of the accidents resulted in minor injuries, while the remainder were property damage.


ROBBERY IN MALL PARKING LOT
The Sault Ste Marie Police Service is investigating a robbery that took place yesterday afternoon at the Station Mall. At approx. 4:40 p.m. a 26-year-old females was robbed of a small amount of cash as she was getting out of her car at the Elgin Street side of the mall.

A male suspect ran up behind the victim, pushed her to the ground and grabbed her money. The suspect was last seen running towards Bay Street with a second male person. Anyone with information on this occurrence is asked to contact the Sault Ste. Marie Police Investigative Services.


BANK FRAUD
City Police are investigating a possible ATM fraud at the Cambrian Mall branch of the TD Bank. Culprits damaged the entrance door to the ATM outlet and marked one of the ATM machines out of order in an attempt to obtain pin numbers from clients using the second ATM.

The incident was reported yesterday morning. Anyone having used this terminal and noticing one of the machines out of order should check their account balance for any discrepancies.


BREAK & ENTER
Over the last 24 hours one break and enter was reported. The break in took place to the Alfano Body Shop located at 252 Wallace Terr. It is unknown what was stolen at this time.


STOLEN VEHICLES
City Police are investigating the report of two stolen vehicles. One vehicle, a 1992 Dodge Caravan, was stolen from the 500 block of Cooper Street at 3:35 p.m. This vehicle has since been recovered.

The second vehicle, a 1989 Pontiac 6000 was stolen from the 600 block of Wallace Terrace and is still outstanding. The vehicle is a 1989 Pontiac 6000, four door, black with licence plate number 307 NYA.


HOOKER ARRESTED
At approximately 2:45 a.m. today, City Police arrested Wayne Hooker, age 36, of 57 Charles Street, Toronto. It is alleged that, on Nov. 24th,

Mr. Hooker went to an address on Morrison Avenue and while there he attempted to break in to the residence, threatened the tenant with a weapon (A two-foot piece of metal) and committed a theft. Hooker will be appearing in Bail Court today at 1:30 p.m.
