ASSAULTED GIRLFRIEND
A 36-year old male will appear in bail court this morning after being arrested on Saturday. It is alleged that he assaulted his common-law girlfriend by punching and kicking her in the face.
At the time of the assault, the accused was on probation with a number of terms. He has been charged with one count of assault causing bodily harm and 3 counts of breach of probation.
FORCIBLY CONFINED & SEXUALLY ASSAULTED
A 23-year-old male will appear in bail court this morning on a number of domestic-related offences involving his ex-girlfriend.
The alleged offences occurred between October 1st and October 9th of this year. The accused was on release conditions not to communicate with the victim, but the accused went to her residence and refused to leave.
During the time period mentioned, the accused refused to let the victim leave her residence and continually assaulted her throughout the week. He used threats to harm the victim and /or the victim’s children as a means of controlling her and preventing her from seeking help.
The assaults including choking, slapping, and twisting of her arms and shoulders. The accused sexually assaulted the victim as well.
The accused also physically assaulted a young child of the victim’s by banging the child’s head off of a wall and also by striking the child’s buttocks hard enough to leave bruises.
On the 9th he left the house for a period of time and the victim left the residence with her children and called the police.
She received medical treatment for non-life threatening injuries. The accused was arrested on the 9th and has been charged with 2 counts of assault, two counts of sexual assault, 2 counts of breach of a release document, one count of forcible confinement and one count of threatening to cause death or bodily harm.
As usual, the assailant cannot be identified as it would also identify the victims.
ASSAULTS GIRLFRIEND
A 20-year-old male will appear in bail court after being arrested on the 11th of October for assault. It is alleged that he assault his girlfriend by pushing and punching her in the face. The male has been charged with one count of assault.
YOUTH CHARGED WITH THREATENING
A 15-year-old youth will appear in bail court today after he threatened to kill another youth by advising the victim that he was lucky that he hadn’t got the victim with a knife yet. The youth has been charged with one count of threatening.
LIQUOR RELATED INCIDENTS
4 persons were arrested with impaired related charged over the long weekend:
On the 9th of October shortly after 10 pm police observed a car being driven erratically in the city’s west end. When officers stopped the car they noted the accused smelled of an alcoholic beverage. 54-year-old Bert Erb of 224 Letcher Street has been charged with one count of consuming over the legal limit. He will appear in court on November 15th.
On the 10th of October officers stopped another car that was being driven erratically in the area of East Street. Officers noted that Ricki Gregory, age 32, of 102 Island Road, Goulais River, was intoxicated.
Gregory was arrested for impaired driving and when he was searched officer located 2 grams of hashish and .5 grams of hash oil in his possession with a street value of around $50. It was also learned that the accused was a disqualified driver.
Gregory refused to provide a breath sample when asked. Gregory has been charged with one count of impaired driving, one count of operating a motor vehicle while disqualified-court order, 2 counts of possession of a controlled drug or substance, and one count of failing to provide a breath sample. He will appear in court on November 15th.
On the 11th of October 51-year old Cheryl Boissoneau of 7-2 Manitou Drive drove her car into a ditch at that address. When police arrived it was apparent she was intoxicated. The accused has been charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of fail to provide a breath sample. She will appear in court on November 15th.
On the 12th of November, shortly after midnight, police were called to Old Garden River Road for an accident. A pickup truck driven by Jeffery Hewson, age 42, of 115 Eastern Avenue was in a ditch in the 1000 block of Old Garden River Road. Officers arrested Mr. Hewson due to his impairment. Mr. Hewson has been charged with one count of consuming over the legal limit and one count of impaired driving. He will appear in court on November 15th.
City Police received a number of reports of number of break and enters since Friday morning. They include:
1) A home in the 500 block of Boundary Road reported a break and enter in the last 2 weeks in which a Sony play station was taken.
2) On the 9th of October a home in the 100 block of Albert Street West was forcibly entered at around 5 am. The homeowners scared the suspect away. Police were called immediately and arrested a male in the area of the break and enter after the homeowners provided a detailed description of the male. 32-year old John Alderman of Hawk Junction was arrested and charged with one count of break and enter. He will appear in court on November 15th.
3) A homeowner in the 100 block of Robin Street returned home from work shortly after 6 am on the 11th and found 2 males in his home. Persons inside the residence were not aware they had uninvited guests. The homeowner scared the males away when he entered his home. The only description available is that there were 2 males, one wearing a white jacket and one wearing a black jacket, both around 18 years old. Nothing was taken in this incident.
4) A home in the 100 block of Allen’s Side Road was entered on the 11th in the afternoon-early evening hours and thieves made off with jewellery.
5) A home in the 200 block of Fifth Avenue was entered on the 11th, again in the afternoon-evening hours, and thieves made off with 30-40 DVDs and play station games, as well as a play station unit.

DAMAGE AT BELLEVUE PARK
On the 10th of October police received a call to Bellevue Park around 7:30 am. A passer-by noted a blue SUV Yukon, newer model driving circles on the front lawn of the Park on the Queen Street East side. One or two males were noted to be in the vehicle.
Extensive damage was done to the front lawn, but officers were unable to locate who was responsible for this act of mischief. If you have information, call City Police or Crime Stoppers.
