BREACHED RELEASE CONDITIONS
An 18-year-old male will appear in bail court this morning after being arrested for breaching his release conditions. It is alleged that he contacted his former girlfriend by telephone while conditions not to communicate with her. This incident stems from a domestic situation.


CAUGHT IN THE ACT
22-year old Corey Blais of 84 Central Street will appear in bail court after being arrested around 2:30 am this morning. Shortly before the arrest a citizen in the Prentice Avenue area notice a male taking a motorbike out of a neighbour’s garage.

The accused pushed the Honda motorbike out of a yard in the 100 block of Prentice, causing damage to a gate of the yard and was still pushing the bike when Police arrived on Prentice. Mr. Blais was place under arrest by the officers and then started to resist arrest.

The accused was taken to the ground by officers but continued to struggle. Mr. Blais refused to remove his hands from underneath his body and after repeated demands to show his hands, he was advised he would be tasered if he did not remove his hands from underneath his body and show what was in his hands. Mr. Blais still failed to comply with the commands of the officers and as a result was tasered.

Mr. Blais was immediately handcuffed and suffered no harm from the taser. At the time of the arrest it was learned the accused was on a release document with a curfew of 11 pm to 7 am, in addition to 2 probation orders with conditions to keep the peace and be good.

Mr. Blais has been charged with one count of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, one count of theft under $5,000, one count of break and enter, one count of resist police, one count of mischief under $5,000, one count of breach of a release document, and 2 counts of breach of probation.


MULTIPLE CHARGES
Again an alert citizen called the City Police at 4:30 this morning to report 2 persons were going through vehicles in the area of Whitney Avenue. The citizen provided a detailed description of the persons and officers subsequently arrested 2 people.

Officers arrested a 16-year-old youth and 18-year old Phillip Lindsey of 106 Letcher St. Upon arresting the accused persons officers located a number of pieces of stolen property such as stereo equipment, a palm pilot, a wallet and it’s contents, as well as a Discman player.

The 16-year-old youth had a small quantity of marijuana , and Mr. Lindsey had a small amount of magic mushrooms on him. Both persons have each been charged with one count of theft under $5,000, one count of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, one count of trespass by night, one count of possession of housebreaking tools and one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance.

The arresting officers are currently still working on this matter and as a result the weight of the drugs has not yet been taken. Both persons are still in police custody and are expected to be released later this morning with the following court dates: Mr. Lindsey will appear in court on September 20th and the young person will appear in court on September 21st.
