TURNS SELF IN

A 34 year-old Desbarats man turned himself in to city police yesterday. Brian Grasley had outstanding warrants for his arrest from an incident on the 21st of January 2004. Mr. Grasley is charged with Theft under $5000, possession of stolen property and fraud. He will appear in court on March 22nd.

OUTSTANDING WARRANT ON YOUNG OFFENDER

An officer from the investigative branch of the city police service executed an outstanding arrest warrant for a young person yesterday. An incident from October 31st of last year resulted in the young offender being charged with assault causing bodily harm. A court date of March 23rd has been set.

FORGERY CHARGES

Sherri Lynn McBride, age 29 was arrested and charged on Tuesday with possession of stolen property and forgery. It is alleged that Ms. McBride stole a cheque from a person known to her, and then made the cheque out payable to herself. Ms. McBride will appear in court on March 22nd.

FAILS TO YIELD

An accident at the intersection of MacDonald Avenue and Lake Street yesterday afternoon at 4:58 pm resulted in one driver being charged. Elizabeth Shaw of MacDonald Avenue was driving west on MacDonald Avenue, began proceeding through the intersection at Lake Street and struck a vehicle that was south bound on Lake Street.

Ms. Shaw was charged with failing to yield the right of way. The Shaw vehicle received severe damage in the collision while the vehicle being driven by Sharon Palahnuk of South Market Street received moderate damage.

TAMMY FOUND

Officers from the Criminal Investigation Services are advising that missing person Tammy Bergamin, age 36 has been located. The news release issued by Sgt. Zambusi on the 15th of February may be rescinded.

BREAK& ENTERS

3 break and enters have been reported. A house in the 400 block of Northland Road was entered sometime yesterday afternoon. Taken from the residence were electronic equipment, numerous CD’s and DVD’s and a small amount of coins. It is believed that thieves used a green vinyl duffle bag from the house to carry the stolen goods.

A resident from John Street returned home on Tuesday and found that her residence had been broken into. It does not appear that anything was taken from this residence.

PIZZA BREAK

Patrol officers attended at Primo Pizza, 151 Trunk Road at 3:12 this morning for a break and enter. They found that the store had been entered and there was damage to the interior. It was also reported that a small amount of cash was taken.
