DEER/VEHICLE COLLISIONS
The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service for the past two months has seen a slight increase in the number of vehicle/deer collisions. During this time period, the Police Service has investigated seven motor vehicle/deer collisions.
These collisions usually result in substantial damage to the motorist’s vehicle and the destruction of the animal. Generally, these collisions occur on Second Line East in the Black Road / McNabb Street area or on Second Line West in the Allen’s Side Road to Town Line vicinity.
Motorists are reminded to keep a look out for deer or other wild animals in the ditches and on the roadways in these areas. Extra care should be utilized when driving in these locales.
