BREACH OF RECOGNIZANCE On or about the 5th of September 2003 the accused, a 22-year-old male breached his recognizance by telephoning his ex-girlfriend and leaving a derogatory message on her machine.
BREACH OF RECOGNIZANCE On or about the 5th of September 2003 the accused, a 22-year-old male breached his recognizance by telephoning his ex-girlfriend and leaving a derogatory message on her machine. At the time of the incident, the male was released on a recognizance to abstain from communicating or associating directly or indirectly with victim and her family. Yesterday at 4:00 pm Patrol Officers located the male at his residence and arrested and charged him with Breach of Recognizance. He will appear in bail court today.
FAILING TO APPEAR On July 28, 2003 Donald Boucher, age 24 of 61 Wellington Street East failed to attend court. A bench warrant was issued for his arrest. On the 9th of September 2003 at 11:20 pm Police Officers located Donald Boucher on Abbott Street in Sault Ste. Marie. The accused was arrested and warrants for Failing to Appear in Court and two counts of Fraud were executed on the accused. Police learned that the accused was scheduled to leave the city on the 10th of September. He will appear in bail court today.
GANG ON FIELD SQUARE At shortly after 2:15 am this morning a homeowner on Field Square heard noises coming from his back yard. The resident observed two males in his rear yard and several other males in his neighbour’s yard. The resident, with the assistance of his neighbour, apprehended one of the males as he was coming out from behind his house. When apprehended, the male suspect was carrying a set of 24-inch bolt cutters and a flashlight was found near him. At 2:26 am Patrol Officers arrested and charged Justin Robson, age 20 of 544 McNabb St. with possession of house breaking tools and trespass by night. The other males fled the scene. Robson will appear in court on October 20th.
MARIJUANA OPERATION BUSTED At approximately 3:30 am this morning while Patrol Officers attended a home on Clearview Drive, a search of the home revealed a hydroponic marijuana growing operation. Officers from the Joint Forces Drug Unit seized the hydroponic growing equipment, along with numerous marijuana plants. The plants ranged in height from a few inches tall to over 5 feet. Officers also seized a small amount of cannabis resin. Estimated street value of the drugs is over $40,000.00. Police arrested and charged David Marcil, age 29 and Michelle Kyle, age 26 both of 19 Clearview Drive with possession of a controlled drug and production of a controlled drug under the Controlled Drug and Substance Act. They will appear in court on October 20th.
BREAK INS On September 10, 2003 at 3:53 am patrol officers were advised that a male was breaking into Gentleman’s Hairstyling at 1496 Wellington Street East. The accused forced entry into the store and removed a small amount of cash and fled the scene on a bicycle. At 3:54 am patrol officers arrested the accused a short distance from the scene as he was riding the bicycle south on Lake Street. A further investigation revealed that the accused had also broken into Hollywood Hairstyling at 253 Trunk Road shortly before breaking into Gentleman’s Hairstyling. Patrol officers recovered a small amount of cash and two Sega Genesis Games taken from there, along with a small amount of cash taken from Gentleman’s Hairstyling. The male, Jarrett Jocko, age 18 of no fixed address, was charged with two counts of break and enter and breach of recognizance. He will appear in bail court today.
MORE BREAK INS The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service investigated several more break ins yesterday. At 7:19 am an occupant at a motel on Queen Street advised police that sometime overnight thieves entered his room and removed a small amount of cash and some personal belongings. At 7:42 am staff at JHL Auto Glass on Korah Road advised police that their business had been entered and shortly after 9:00 am staff at the Holy Trinity Church on Northern Ave. complained to police that the church had been entered. At 9:05 am staff at Ball Florists on North Street advised police that thieves had tried to break into their store but were unsuccessfully and at 9:45 am the owner of a vacant home on Copernicus Drive advised police that the residence had been entered and the interior had been damaged.
