SINGLE VEHICLE ACCIDENT City police report a single vehicle accident at 2:30 this morning near 1275 Trunk Road. A driver lost control of his vehicle, struck the curb, and then plowed into a utility pole.

City police report being fairly busy last night. They are unable to provide any details until Monday but the matters handled could be described as routine.

BLUEWATER RESTAURANT BURNS A fire at the Bluewater Restaurant in Gros Cap was reported at 1:28 this morning. Both the Prince Township and Sault fire departments responded as well as city police. The blaze was well advanced when firefighters arrived.

MISSING PERSON City Police report that James Giles, reported missing from Riverview Centre since yesterday afternoon, has been located in Nottawasaga, Ontario. Mr. Giles is originally from that part of the province.

RIVER ROCK BRAWL Police were called to the River Rock early this morning. A large fight was underway involving several patrons.

City police report a relatively quiet night last night with only two break and enters to report. BREAK AND ENTER Yesterday afternoon between 2:00 and 5:00, person or persons forced open the front door of an apartment in the 100 block of Grace Street.

BREAK AND ENTERS There were three break and enters over the weekend plus one attempted entry. The first, at about 1:40am on Saturday, was in the 200 block of MacDonald Avenue.

WHITE POWDER ON SAULT LETTER Earlier this week, the Sault's weekly newspaper, The Sault This Week, received a letter from New York and reported to police that there was a "suspicious" powder on it.
