Oct 6th, 2005 - My Darling Skippy it’s been thirteen years since you left our world to be with (Our Lord). I’m writing this memoriam letter to you from Gros Cap the very spot you proposed to me and thinking how happy I felt. I knew when I first met you that you would be my best friend my husband and my lover for ever. I am so happy that I’ve had the privilege of loving you honey. Your loss is part of my journey it has shown me how grateful to have shared my life with you. The love we had people search for and few never find, and I pray some day they will. A word of guidance to the young people out there, when you fall in love and first starting on your wedding day and marriage is a date for life (I call it) so you try your best to please each other and learning as you go through life together. Sure, we all have ups and downs good and hard times but the secret to me is talking things out and giving in when we sometimes don’t want to or swallowing our pride lots of times HA HA HA. Try not to carry on things you disagree in the past hard to do sometimes. HA HA HA but folks (making up is the best part) Skippy always says. HA HA But sometimes marriages do not work due to circumstances but at least you tried and I’m sure there is a love for you out there someday.
Well Honey the children are all doing fine. Wayne and Marcy are busy with their family and the shop. Tammy is having lots of fun with her grandson Owen and busy working. Shane is following his dream like you told him honey and now singing in Nashville. Channa and Mike are busy with their family and also with their business.
The grandchildren are growing up fast and starting their life and we now have two grandchildren Owen two and Cadence is one but of course Hon you already knew that HAHA
But the kids busy as they are still take very good care of me. I love having mother and daughter times and my daughter in laws Marcy and Cindy are just like my own daughters I love you both very much. You know Skippy its nine years I have been camping at my brother’s camp ground. This summer was a hot summer but we all had a wonderful time especially playing washer toss games. I’ve met a lot of people this year and they all made my stay here not so lonely. They cooked tasty suppers, homemade jams, fresh vegetables, lots of invites to campfires and rides on the golf cart. Even my dear friends next door to me had me over several times for homemade bread they toasted around the fire. I want to especially thank my brother Mark, Mary and Dave for taking such good care of me and anything I needed help with you are always there for me. Its funny when I got married Mark you were only four years old standing in my wedding party, so of course I really didn’t get to know you because I got marries and left sooner. Then years later you started the Mark’s Bay Camp Ground and asked me to come so after Skippy passed I wanted to camp then I would meet people and not be so lonely. (the best move I ever made) So fellow friends I can tell you now my brother Mark and his wife Mary are fantastic people very kind and down to earth and very giving. I love you both so much. Ps. Mark now you know I’m never leaving the park because you spoil me and I could get used to that for sure HA HA HA I also want to my brother Lawrence and hi wife Debbie for the help you did for my deck wood that is cedar that I stained dark grey and knowing how much you loved wood you probably cringed when I told you HA HA also thank you for all my fire wood you gave me over the years you are a wonderful brother and Lovely sister in law. Ps. I hope to work with you this winter in your shop Lawrence I know I will learn a lot (love you both lots)
Then a wonderful surprise gift was given to me from a beautiful young lady Crystal who makes signs on wood, shirts, cups and much more. So, she put on the back of my car window this saying “In memory of Walter (Skippy) Chisholm” with the fire dept emblem beside it. I was so touched that night and there were tears from everyone there. So, Thank you Crystal from the bottom of my heart for your thoughtfulness and kindness. So now my fellow friends you will know why I put the flowers on my white Toyota car. In memory of my beloved husband (Skippy). I also want to thank the fireman at NO2 hall for taking a picture with them standing around the car. Thank you also Debbie for taking that picture and sending it to me. It was a special moment for me because that was Skippy’s hall. I’ve had many kind deeds happen to me over the years (like everyone) and it’s a good feeling to help other people and that’s what God wants us to do this believe, forgive and do kind deeds. Maybe sometimes hard to do but it will be worth it in the end. Just the other day when I was in town I had to put my sticker on my car when a gentleman offered to do it for me and 10 mins later another couple offered to put my washer fluid in when I had the hood up and just before that I came from my oil change so I had three kind deeds happen to me with in the hour. So, thank you Toni, Steve, Jody and Michelle for your kindness. And then I got new tires on my car two days later thanks to Diane on the camp ground. So, folks I should be all set for my car now right
HA HA.

Well My Darling I think I better stop writing and save some for next year you always said I could write a book HA HA. This is a memory letter to my husband and a thank you card as well to all the people that helped me during my vacation at Marks Bay. I would fill two pages of names for all who helped so I thank everyone for all the wonderful things they did for me. (I love you guys) I used to put this memoriam in the Sault Star and they did a great job but now I’m putting it on Soo Today because I write more HA HA. Thank you, so much fellow friends, for taking the time to listen to me. You have helped me over the years with your beautiful comments I just love it. But now for sure I better stop writing because my beautiful daughter in law Marcy is typing this out and putting it in for me and we don’t want her to get writers block HA HA (Thanks Marcy) Love Mom Chisholm. Xo Ps. Thank you Mary for all our phone calls to each other in the morning. I had wonderful talks with you and lots of laughs Love Carolyn xo
Well My Darling Skippy I’ll sign off for now I was born to love you forever
Love your Honey Bunny
