Algoma Ride for Autism rolls on

The roar of motorcycle engines filled the air on Great Northern Road Saturday morning as riders and passengers strapped on their helmets and geared up to hit the road in support of the 11th annual Algoma Ride for Autism. 

A total of 150 riders registered for the event, which sees motorcycle buffs from across the province make the trip to Sault Ste. Marie each year in order to help raise money for the Algoma Autism Foundation.

The not-for-profit organization was founded in 2013 with the goal of assisting people living with autism spectrum disorder by providing tools for families and schools to aid in the positive development of those on the spectrum.  

This year’s ride runs through Garden River, Echo Bay and Desbarats before returning to the Sault and wrapping up at the Esquire Club with giveaways, prizes and a live performance by local band Mustang Heart.
