Public Health Ontario reported 610 new COVID cases today.
The latest updates noted 628 recoveries and two deaths.
The Sept. 20 update provided by the province's public health agency also reported the following data:
- Included in the new cases reported today are 362 unvaccinated people, 43 partially vaccinated people, 152 fully vaccinated people, and 53 people with unknown vaccination status (missing health card data).
- 6,376 active, lab-confirmed cases, down from 6,396 yesterday.
- 233 people are hospitalized with COVID-19.
- There are 156 COVID-positive patients in the ICU plus another 21 patients no longer testing positive for COVID-19.
- There are 105 COVID-positive patients on ventilators and another 18 patients on ventilators no longer testing positive for COVID.
- 10,309,713 Ontarians (about 69 per cent of the total population) have been fully vaccinated and another 784,936 (five per cent of Ontario population) have a single dose of COVID vaccine.
- The seven-day average incidence rate by vaccination status is 10.9 cases per 100,000 unvaccinated people, 6.6 cases per 100,000 partially vaccinated people, and 1.7 cases per 100,000 fully vaccinated people.
- The province reported 23,864 tests were processed yesterday, resulting in a 2.7 per cent positivity rate.
- Of the new cases reported today, 126 are from Toronto, 100 are from Peel, 19 are from Simcoe-Muskoka, and 71 are from York Region.
- Today's new cases include 133 individuals under 12 years old, 50 youth between 12 and 19 years old, 217 people between 20 and 39 years old, 134 people between 40 and 59 years old, 63 people between 60 and 79 years old, and 12 people over 79 years old.
Public Health Ontario has confirmed 580,194 cases of COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic, and reported 564,163 recoveries and 9,655 deaths.
Since the start of the pandemic, 29,589 people have been hospitalized with COVID and 5,768 of them were in intensive care units.
The cumulative average incidence rate in the province is 3,937.8 cases per 100,000 people in Ontario.
Ontario's average weekly incidence rate last week was 34.4 cases per 100,000 people, which is even with the rate from Sept. 4-10.

Northern Ontario
In Northern Ontario, the breakdown of Public Health Ontario data is:
- Algoma Public Health: 461 cases, weekly rate of 10.2 cases per 100,000 people. There are 22 known active cases.
- North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit: 734 cases, weekly rate of 14.7 cases per 100,000 people. The health unit has reported 736 cases. There are 14 known active cases.
- Porcupine Health Unit: 2,193 cases, weekly rate of 5.9 cases per 100,000 people. The health unit has reported 2,195 cases. There are 9 known active cases.
- Public Health Sudbury and Districts: 2,363 cases, weekly rate of 20.9 cases per 100,000 people. The health unit has reported 2,380 cases. There are 65 known active cases.
- Timiskaming Health Unit: 210 cases, weekly rate of 3 cases per 100,000 people. The health unit has reported 211 cases. There is one known active case.
- Northwestern Health Unit: 1,148 cases, weekly rate of 11.1 cases per 100,000 people. The health unit has reported 1,143 cases. There are 11 known active cases.
- Thunder Bay District Health Unit: 3,388 cases, weekly rate of 2.5 cases per 100,000 people. There are 4 known active cases.
