City now accepting Hockey Hall of Fame nominations

The nomination period for the Sault Ste. Marie Hockey Hall of Fame is now open.

A news release issued today by the City of Sault Ste. Marie states that the Hockey Hall of Fame Selection Committee will accept nominations for eligible applicants that are "connected with the sport of hockey – whether they are a player, builder, on-ice official, or team – which has attained significant recognition and/or fame in the city or for the city in their pursuits relative to hockey."

The deadline for nominations is June 30.

Nomination forms are available online, and completed applications can be emailed to r.santamaria@cityssm.on.ca or mailed to:

Located at the GFL Memorial Gardens, previous inductees into the Sault Ste. Marie Hockey Hall of Fame include Phil and Tony Esposito, the Soo Greyhounds 1993 Team, Ted Nolan, Ron Francis, Dr. George Shunock, and Marty Turco.
