Days after Soo Greyhounds defenceman Ryan O’Rourke was named to the Canadian National Junior Team for the upcoming World Junior Hockey Championship, forward Tanner Dickinson was named to Team USA for the annual event.

USA Hockey announced the roster for the American entry in the event on Tuesday afternoon.

Similar to the Canadian roster, Team USA features 14 forwards, eight defenceman, and three goaltenders.

Dickinson, a prospect of the NHL’s St. Louis Blues, is one of just two players from the Canadian Hockey League on the team, both of whom play in the Ontario Hockey League.

The other is forward Sasha Pastujov of the Guelph Storm.

The U.S. roster includes 20 NHL-drafted players.

The tournament kicks off on Boxing Day.
