Although his race didn’t end up airing on last night’s episode of American Ninja Warrior, the Sault’s very own Sylas Snider is moving on to the semi-finals of the popular sports entertainment show.

Originally recorded back in Los Angeles this past spring, American Ninja Warrior brings together some of the world’s top athletes on the biggest stage for obstacle courses.

Snider was among a group of 30 male athletes who competed in the show’s seventh qualifying round, which aired Monday night. The young Rebel Gym coach needed to finish in the top 12 to move on.

Snider didn’t disappoint, managing to secure 10th on the leaderboard that was displayed near the end of the episode.

Only the top two men in Snider’s group finished the race without falling. The Superior Heights grad made it to the obstacle course’s fourth stage called "Kite Surfer" with a time of 31.65 seconds, good enough to earn himself a spot in the next round.

The semi-finals, which takes place in Las Vegas, was recorded back in May. That round of competition will feature ninjas going head-to-head, rather than the athletes competing for best individual times like in the qualifiers.

The semis will air Monday July 31 on NBC.
