With three rounds in the books, the 2021 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection resumed on Saturday morning.
With 12 picks remaining in the final 12 rounds scheduled for Saturday, the Soo Greyhounds fourth round pick saw the team select defenceman Andrew Gibson of the Windsor Jr. Spitfires U16 team.
The pick comes after the Greyhounds selected three forwards on day one of the draft Friday.
Also of note locally, the Ottawa 67’s selected Soo Jr. Greyhounds forward Cooper Foster in the second round on Friday night.
With their pick in round five, the Greyhounds selected another defenceman in Blair Scott, a right-shooting blueliner from the Kitchener Jr. Rangers U16 team.
In round seven, the Greyhounds selected American centre Charlie Lewinski of the Detroit Compuware U15's.
Make it back-to-back centres for the Greyhounds as the team selects Stephen Campbell of the Toronto Marlboros U16 team in round eight.
With their lone pick in round nine, the Greyhounds selected Windsor Jr. Spitfires U16 defenceman Anthony Ciaramitaro.
With their first pick of round 10, the Greyhounds select defenceman Ty Campbell of the Smiths Falls Bears U18 team.
The Greyhounds used their second pick of the 10th round to select defenceman Noah Ziskie of the Oakland Jr. Grizzlies 15’s.
To wrap up the 10th round, the Greyhounds selected winger Connor Clattenburg of the Renfrew Wolves U18 team with the final pick of the round.
The Greyhounds go local with their pick in the 11th round by taking Soo Jr. Greyhounds defenceman Austin Fellinger.
After a bit of a delay and Owen Sound making a second selection due to the player they originally selected in the 13th round actually being eligible for the 2022 draft, the Greyhounds have selected winger Zack Corte of the Ajax-Pickering Raiders U16 team.
Short turnaround from round 13 sees the Greyhounds take left wing Owen Shore of the Huron-Perth Lakers U16 team in round 14.
The Sarnia Sting made some history later in the round by selecting Elgin-Middlesex Chiefs goaltender Taya Currie.
Currie becomes the first woman selected in the OHL draft.
The Greyhounds wrapped up the day by selecting Thunder Bay Kings U16 winger E.J. Paddington with the 298th pick.
