The Soo North Stars are continuing to search for their first victory at the Telus Cup national AAA midget hockey championships in Red Deer, Alberta.

The London Knights remain alive and the Sudbury Wolves are a win away in the Ontario Hockey League conference finals. On Tuesday, the Knights took their first win over the Plymouth Whalers 5-2 but still trail the best-of-seven western series 3-1.

Soo Lacrosse is a making a last call to all those wishing to participate in the upcoming season. The registration deadline is Monday, April 30 as league play is scheduled to begin on May 1.

The Soo North Stars faced the challenge of opening the Telus Cup national midget hockey championships against the host team from Red Deer. Despite a solid effort, the North Stars were blanked 2-0 by Red Deer, who outshot the North Stars 30-14.

The Titan basketball Juvenile boy’s team finished second this past weekend in a tournament in Barrie. In the first game of the tourney verses the Kitchener–Waterloo Eagles, it took the Titans double overtime to prevail with the 70-65 victory.
