Seven weeks of action are complete in Sault Ste. Marie's Women's Hockey League.

The High School Boys Basketball League will determine their city final participants on Thursday as six semi-final matchups are scheduled. Semi-finals winners in the senior, junior and midget divisions will advance into Saturday's city championships.

The Soo North Stars have once again rewritten the Great North Midget League record books. The North Stars ended the regular season over the weekend in Kapuskasing with a 5-1 victory on Saturday night before scoring a 6-1 win on Sunday afternoon.

The Sault College Cougars men's basketball team took a giant leap toward a playoff spot with a home court victory over the Niagara College Knights on Friday. In an exciting game, the Cougars pulled away for a 90-82 victory over the Knights.

The Algoma University Varsity Basketball programs have not enjoyed too much success when it comes to winning games since their inception four years ago, but the wins they do have have been special ones.
