OPP Beat

On Sunday, February 25, 2018, at approximately 4:25 a.m., officers from the Superior East (Wawa) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to a Wawa address regarding a dispute between a male and a female.

 It is alleged that he used a shovel and banged on the door, attempting to gain entry

He is serving a sentence for robbery, fraud and other offences

Joseph Topping was reported missing on January 8

The closure is due to a broken down tractor trailer blocking both lanes of travel

After speaking to the female driver, officers detected an odour of alcohol on her breath

Man and woman arrested had previously evaded OPP officers in Kenora, Wawa and Sault Ste. Marie

Initial estimates of the barn and contents put the damage at approximately $150,000

The stop led to numerous charges for a Sault, Ontario man

The East Algoma Detachment of the OPP located human remains in a wooded area within the City of Elliot Lake
