OPP stop short of calling it a quiet night. They were kept busy responding to noise complaints fron New Year's parties and domestic disturbances. Beyond that, it was a quiet night for criminal activity.

ONE INJURED IN VEHICLE ROLLOVER O.P.P. investigated a one-vehicle accident on Highway 556 yesterday morning. The driver, Katie Dupuis, age 22 from Sault Ste. Marie was not injured. Her passenger, Casey Hunt, age 25 also of Sault Ste.

HIGHWAYS RE-OPENED The OPP (White River) would like to advise that Highway 17 between White River and Marathon was re-opened shortly after 2:00 p.m. today. The highway had been closed since early this morning due to weather and ice conditions.

ACCIDENT SENDS ONE TO HOSPITAL A snowmobile accident sent the O.P.P., Goulais First Response and Sault Area Ambulance to a snowmobile trail in Haviland Township. Police say the snowmobile hit a rut threw both riders off.

ACCIDENT DUE TO WEATHER Sault Ste. Marie O.P.P. has responded to a minor, single-vehicle accident on Townline Road in Laird Township early this morning. There were no injuries. The accident was the result of poor visibility and road conditions.

The O.P.P. reports a very quiet twenty-four hours right across Northeastern Ontario. There are four snowmobilers missing in the Timmins area this morning. The O.P.P. has a helicopter participating in the search for the four who are a day overdue.

HIGHWAY CLOSED White River, Ont. If you’re heading for Thunder Bay today, you may be delayed near White River due to a bad accident. The accident, 16 kilometres west of the town has closed the highway in both directions.
