The Sault College Cougars fell both on the basketball and volleyball courts on Friday night at home.

The Central Algoma Secondary School girls junior basketball team lost on their home floor in the NOSSA “A” semi-final to Algonquin of North Bay 46-30. Algonquin lead 11-8 at the half.

The Soo Greyhounds have played a ton of hockey in this recent stretch and Sunday will provide a well deserved break.

The Soo North Stars picked up another win on Saturday night in Great North Midget League action. At the John Rhodes Community Centre, eight different players scored for the North Stars in a 9-3 win over the Rayside Balfour Sabrecats.

The Soo Greyhounds continue to show the look of contenders. After struggling and going through several ups and downs during the first part of the season, the Greyhounds appear to have gained the confidence needed to compete in the western conference.
