GLENDALE, Ariz. — Scott Wedgewood wanted to play well against his former team. He ended up with his second career shutout. Wedgewood stopped 27 shots to lead the Arizona Coyotes to a 5-0 victory over the New Jersey Devils on Saturday night.

PITTSBURGH — The two-time defending champion Pittsburgh Penguins are starting to build momentum after an uneven start to the season. That hasn't been the case for the Buffalo Sabres, who were nearly shut out for a fourth straight game.

VANCOUVER — Jacob Markstrom spent a little longer than usual peeling off his equipment Saturday night.

RALEIGH, N.C. — After Carolina twice gave up one-goal leads in a brawl-filled game against Florida, the Hurricanes' last goal gave the Panthers no chance to respond.

WASHINGTON — Facing one of the NHL's supreme goaltenders in Sergei Bobrovsky, the Washington Capitals were glad to have another in Braden Holtby.
