On the 19 September 2014 City Police detectives noticed a man in a vehicle that was wanted on an outstanding charge of break and enter. With the assistance of patrol officers the vehicle was stopped and Charles Joseph Carricato (age 39) was arrested.

Thursday, September 18, 2014

A break and enter was reported to a residence in the 500 block of MacDonald Avenue today between 10:30 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. while the homeowner was out. A window was entered and a small amount of cash taken.

Yesterday morning a homeowner on Madeleine Street reported a break and enter to their garage. It is unknown at this time what was taken. Sometime between September 12 and September 16, a residence on Brown Street was entered.

On September 16, 2014 Patrol Services investigated a domestic complaint. Charged is 51yrs female facing charges of Breach of Recognizance, Threatening Death and Criminal Harassment.

On the 15 September 2014 officers from the Crime Suppression Unit located and charged 36 yr. old Vicki Springbett with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime. Springbett is alleged to have pawned an IPOD at a local Pawn dealer.

On September 14, 2014 City Police responded to a domestic incident in the east end of the City. A male, age 48, went to his ex-wife’s residence driving a motor vehicle and was [allegedly] in an intoxicated condition.

On September 13, 2014, City Police responded to a call to have two females removed from a residence as they were allegedly causing damage within the house. Upon arriving, two females were located fleeing the scene.

On September 11, 2014 at 4:10 pm Patrol Officers arrested and charged Jody Burns, age 20 of 519 Boundary Rd. with Theft under $5,000.00. It is alleged he was shoplifting from Walmart in the Station Mall. He will appear in court on October 20th.

Yesterday afternoon at 3:04 p.m., the Sault Ste Marie Police Service discovered that all 9-1-1 phone lines that operate out of the Police Services building on Second Line East had gone down.

On the 22 August 2014 a man attended one of the local Pawn Brokers. He passed off a chainsaw as his own and received cash from the exchange. It was discovered that the power tool was not his and in fact was stolen from a recent garage break in.
