HIGHWAY 17 CLOSED WAWA TO BATCHEWANA BAY - UPDATE (Tiernan Twp., ON) – Wawa OPP advise that Highway 17 is still closed from Wawa to Batchewana Bay as a result of a single motor vehicle collision involving a tractor trailer carrying explosives.

TWO REMAIN IN CUSTODY AWAITING BAIL (Elliot Lake, Ontario) – Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at approximately 6:20 p.m. police received a call to attend a residence on Dieppe Avenue in Elliot Lake regarding a possible assault.

MISCHIEF ON AMSTERDAM ROAD IN ELLIOT LAKE (Elliot Lake, Ontario) – The OPP is currently investigating a mischief to a vehicle on Amsterdam Road in Elliot Lake.

OPP RESPOND TO SIX MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISIONS (Sault Ste. Marie, ON) – Sault Ste. Marie OPP responded to six motor vehicle collisions yesterday on area highways.

BUSINESS ENTERED (Batchewana First Nation, ON) - On Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at 3:50 am, Officers from the Batchewana Police Service and Sault Ste. Marie OPP were called to the Industrial Park on Gran St. on the Batchewana First Nation.

VEHICLE IN DITCH Impaired Driver Arrested (Aweres Twp., ON) - On Friday, November 30, 2012 at approximately 10:00 pm Sault Ste. Marie OPP were dispatched to a vehicle in the ditch in the southbound lane of Highway 17 north near Trout Lake Road.

STOP SIGN, SPEED LIMIT SIGNS STOLEN (MacDonald-Meredith-Aberdeen Township, ON) – On November 18, 2012 five speed limit signs were erected in MacDonald Township.

FESTIVE R.I.D.E. 2012 IS UNDERWAY (Elliot Lake, Blind River, Thessalon) – The East Algoma OPP is currently conducting their annual Festive R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) campaign.

THEFT FROM LOCKED VEHICLE (Elliot Lake, Ontario) – Police are currently investigating a theft from a vehicle parked in the parking lot at 71 Washington Crescent in Elliot Lake.
