City Police Beat

There were thefts reported from vehicles on Parkinworth Place. Items reported stolen included iPods and change. There was a report of an attempt to steal a stereo system from a vehicle on Boydell Place.

On June 20, 2014 two accused young persons escaped from a local detention centre. Both accused were located by police in the west end of the city and charged with escape lawful custody and breach of probation.

On the 20th of June, 2014 at 3:50 a.m., city police attended in the area of Tilley Road for a mischief complaint. Upon arrival to the area, police observed a vehicle being operated in an erratic fashion.

On June 19 at 8:12 a.m. patrol officers arrested and charged Jeffrey Leclair, age 21, of no fixed address, on the strength of several warrants. He was wanted for breach of probation order, failing to attend court and breach of recognizance.

On June 17, 2014, city police located a wanted male in a residence in the 100 block of Wellington St West. He was found hiding in a closet. The man knew he was wanted.

On June 17, 2014 city poice responded to domestic related incident in the west end of the city.

On June 15, 2014, city police responded to a domestic matter in the west end of the city. Police investigated a complaint of criminal harassment involving a 57-year-old accused male.

Afternoon news On the 15 June 2014 police responded to a two vehicle collision in the 200 block of Second Line West at about 4:15 AM. On arrival, police noted one of the drivers had been consuming alcohol and made a roadside demand.

At 10:30 this morning a 36 year old Sault man turned himself in to the city police. The accused was wanted for 3 counts of breaching his probation in relation to a domestic incident.

Late yesterday afternoon city police attended at a residence on Wayne Court for an attempt break and enter. The attempt occurred during the daytime hours and entry was not gained. On June 12, 2014 at approximately 4:20 p.m.
