City Police Beat

On October 19th Police Officers responded to a complaint of the theft of a boat and trailer.

On October 18 2014 at approximately 5:30 am Patrol Officers responded at a house fire located at 545 Connaught Ave in the west end of the city. After investigation Sault Ste. Marie Fire Services determined that the cause of the fire was arson.

Yesterday afternoon a homeowner reported a break and enter on Williams Street. Jewellery and electronics were taken. Last evening a homeowner returned to their residence on First Avenue and discovered their home had been broken into.

A 49-year-old male was arrested in regards to domestic incident. It is alleged that the male who was on conditions not to communicate with the victim, contacted the victim twice by phone.

On October 14, 2014 at 4:50 p.m., patrol officers arrested and charged Ralph Carricato, age 70 of Arbor Drive, Sault Ste. Marie with possession of property obtained by crime. It is alleged that he was in possession of a set of stolen tires.

City Police officers attended to a west end residence this afternoon in response to a threatening complaint. It is alleged 21-year-old Ryan Young of 439 Douglas St.

On October 11, 2014, it is alleged that the accused Ricardo Policicchio, age 25 was in the Metro grocery store at the Churchill Plaza. The accused was observed leaving the store with an undisclosed amount of meats and other groceries.

A break and enter was reported to a residence on Lawson Avenue overnight. The garage was entered through an unlocked man door and alcohol was stolen from a fridge inside.

A 41-year-old male is in custody and will attend bail court on Tuesday after it is alleged that on the 11 Oct 14 at approximately 02:30 hours the accused attended his residence on Trunk Road while intoxicated and began accusing his common law wife of

On October 8, 2014 it is alleged that the accused Jody Burns, age 20, entered Shoppers Drug Mart at 44 Great Northern Road and did steal electronic equipment.
