City Police Beat

On November 7, 2014 at 3:30 p.m., officers attended Rome's Grocery Store on Great Northern Road, for a male shoplifter. 20-year-old Tyler Wright of Princeton Drive has been charged with theft under $5000.

On November 9 at approximately 3 a.m., patrol officers responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Bruce St. Investigation revealed that the driver had been drinking and a road side screening device was administered, which the accused failed.

On November 8, 2014 patrol officers attended at a residence in the city’s west end. Investigation revealed an allegation that the female slapped and scratched the male victim. As a result the female was arrested and charged with assault.

City Police attended to a downtown parking lot this morning regarding a disturbance. Upon their arrival they found a female on scene acting irrationally.

A 23 year old male was arrested at 06:00 a.m. this morning charged with 5 counts of assault on his girlfriend of six months. The allegations date back to 5 separate incidents of alleged violence towards her since June of 2014.

On November 4th, 2014 in the early afternoon Patrol Officers arrested and charged a 14 year old youth with Assault. The young person is alleged to have assault their parent. No injuries were reported. The youth will appear in court on Dec. 9.

On the 2nd of November 2014 at approximately 1:00pm Officers from Patrol Services attended a west end residence with regards to a domestic incident. Officers arrested a 56yrs old male for Assault and Threatening to Cause Bodily Harm.

A 51 year old male was arrested by City Police officers yesterday afternoon for breaching conditions of a Probation Order he was on as a result of a previous domestic incident.

On October 30, 2014 at 11:52 p.m. Patrol Officers arrested and charged a 22-year-old male with criminal harassment and breach of recognizance. The male was on court imposed conditions not to communicate with a female party.

On October 29, 2014 at 3 p.m., patrol officers arrested and charged a 39-year-old male with assault and two counts of sexual assault. The male is alleged to have assaulted his spouse. The victim was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
