BREAK & ENTERS At approx. 12:05 a.m. yesterday, City Police were called to the Bawating Quik Mart in regards to an alarm. Upon arrival officers discovered that the store had been broken into and that an unknown quantity of cigarettes was stolen.

The Sault Ste Marie Police Service responded to approx. 90 complaints yesterday – most were of a minor nature. DOMESTIC ASSAULT At approx. 1:00 AM this morning City Police were called to investigate a domestic dispute on Cathcart Street.

WEATHER CAUSES HAVOC The return of winter, yesterday, kept the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service busy investigating 17 motor vehicle collisions. Two of the accidents resulted in minor injuries, while the remainder were property damage.

FIGHT LEADS TO ASSAULT CHARGES Yesterday at approximately 2:30 a.m., City Police received a call about a fight on Peoples Road. Upon arrival, police observed the victim had several injuries consisting of a black eye, bloody nose and lip.

City police had an interesting night last night. CITIZEN FOLLOWS SUSPICIOUS CAR Two males, Shane Young, age 24 of Searchmont and Lorne Beaird, age 21 of 765 Cooper Street have been charged with assaulting another male last evening.

BREACH OF PROBATION On the 27th of July 2003, patrol officers received a complaint that Donald Levesque, age 43 of 26 Albert Street East was harassing two adults at a downtown apartment complex.

DEER/VEHICLE COLLISIONS The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service for the past two months has seen a slight increase in the number of vehicle/deer collisions. During this time period, the Police Service has investigated seven motor vehicle/deer collisions.

ARRESTED FOR SHOPLIFTING Yesterday the accused, George Murray, age 44 of 793 Queen Street East was in the Zellers Store at 293 Bay Street and allegedly left without paying for several watches.
