City Police Beat

On Monday, December 1, 2014 officers attended at the Station Mall, 293 Bay Street regarding a shoplifter who had been arrested by security and held for police.

2 thefts were reported to City Police today from residences on Glen Ave. The first theft was from a vehicle where a monitor for a back up camera was stolen. The second theft was a bicycle. ************************* On November 30, 2014 at 6:25 p.m.

On the 30th of November at approximately 2:30 am City Police RIDE officers checked a vehicle in the area of Lyons Ave. Upon further investigation, the officers determined that the male driver showed signs of impairment.

On November 29, 2014 in the early morning hours, City Police responded to a call in the 100 block of Wellington Street West. Police located a female and a check was done.

On November 28, 2014 at 3:55 am Patrol Officers arrested and charged Mark Vasey, age 29 of 44 Francis St., Thessalon, Ontario with Assault and Break and Enter.

On November 26, 2014 a young person age 15, was arrested after allegedly assaulting his mother and father and damaging property at the residence. It is alleged that the young person went into a rage and smashed a floor lamp and damaging a door frame.

A 53-year-old male was arrested by city police detectives on November 25 and charged with 4 separate sexual offences.

Officers from Patrol Services arrested a 28-year old male this morning and charged him with one count of break and enter one count of robbery, one count of threatening death and one count of mischief.

On November 24, 2014 a male accused, age 40, turned himself in at the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service regarding a domestic matter.

On November 22, 2014 at 2:40 p.m. Police Officers arrested and charged a 27-year-old male with two counts of assault and two counts of threatening death. It is alleged that he assaulted his partner on November 17 and 18.
